Terms of Service

App: Pokeibo (the “App”)

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the App. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The App is distributed in selected markets and is designed for use in Japan. It requires a PayPay Card account, which is only available in Japan. While available in selected markets to serve users who reside in Japan with non-Japanese Apple or Google accounts, the App is not intended for use outside Japan. These Terms are governed by Japanese law.

1. The service

The App is a personal expense-tracking tool that imports PayPay Card CSV statements and helps you categorize and visualize spending. All data is stored on your device. The App is provided by OhayoStudio.

The App is intended for personal use, including the management of sole-trader (個人事業) business expenses by an individual.

2. Subscription and payment

The App is available via subscription, with a free trial period offered through Apple’s App Store or Google Play.

Pricing. Current pricing is displayed in the App and on the store listing:

  • Monthly plan: ¥300
  • Annual plan: ¥1,800

Prices may be revised. We will provide reasonable prior notice of any price change. Continued use of the App after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Billing. All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) according to their respective terms. OhayoStudio does not handle payment information.

Free trial. A 14-day free trial is offered to new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged for the chosen subscription period. The trial may not be available to users who have previously subscribed or trialed the App.

Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. You may cancel at any time through your Apple or Google account settings.

Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. OhayoStudio cannot process refunds directly.

If you request a refund, RevenueCat (the subscription provider) may share purchase-related data (your total spend, previously granted refunds, and the approximate age of your customer record) with Apple or Google to help them evaluate the request and prevent abuse of the refund system. 3. Your data

All transaction data you import remains on your device. The App does not transmit your transaction data to OhayoStudio or any third party. See the Privacy Policy at https://pokeibo.jp/privacy for details.

You are responsible for backing up your data. The App provides export and backup functions for this purpose. OhayoStudio is not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, OS reinstallation, uninstallation, or any other cause.

4. License

OhayoStudio grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the rules of the Apple App Store or Google Play.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the App, except where permitted by applicable law
  • Redistribute, sell, rent, or sublicense the App
  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws
  • Attempt to circumvent subscription payment or the trial period

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose. Specifically, you will not:

  • Use the App to import or store data you do not have the legal right to use
  • Use the App to commit or facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any other illegal activity
  • Use the App to harass, harm, or violate the rights of others

6. Intellectual property

The App, including its code, design, illustrations, copywriting, and merchant classification data, is owned by OhayoStudio and protected by Japanese and international copyright law.

The names “PayPay” and “PayPay Card” are trademarks of their respective owners. OhayoStudio is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by PayPay Corporation, SoftBank, or any related entity. The App is an independent third-party tool that processes CSV files exported by users from PayPay’s own service.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is.” OhayoStudio makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App’s accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

The App is not a financial advisor. It does not provide investment advice, tax advice, or financial planning advice. You are responsible for reviewing the App’s output before relying on it for tax filing, budgeting, or any other financial decision.

The App’s categorization may be inaccurate. Merchant categorization uses pattern matching and machine learning that may produce wrong results. Always verify before relying on the data for tax or accounting purposes.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Japanese law:

  • OhayoStudio’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ¥10,000, whichever is greater.
  • OhayoStudio is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profit, or business interruption.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for damages caused by OhayoStudio’s intentional misconduct or gross negligence, where such limitation would be invalid under the Consumer Contract Act (消費者契約法) or other applicable Japanese law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Your subscription remains valid for the period you have paid for, regardless of uninstallation.

OhayoStudio may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you materially violate these Terms. In practice, because the App is local-only, “termination” means OhayoStudio may withdraw the App from distribution, refuse to renew your subscription, or refuse to provide support. Your local data and your right to use already-purchased subscription periods are not affected.

10. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. The unenforceable provision will be interpreted to accomplish its objective to the greatest extent permitted by law.

11. Changes to these Terms

OhayoStudio may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App release notes at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Translation

These Terms are published in Japanese and English. The Japanese version is the authoritative text. In case of any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising out of or related to the App or these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the 宮崎地方裁判所 (Miyazaki District Court) as the court of first instance.

14. Apple and Google additional terms

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and OhayoStudio only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. If you obtained the App from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service (https://play.google.com/intl/en_us/about/play-terms/) also apply.
